Sandbach Striders

Langley 7 5th November 2011
It was a 2 pm start from the lovely village of Langley near Macclesfield, really nice and sunny weather for early November.
Steering is made more difficult when running with your eyes closed.
The start was next to the Village Hall and slightly downhill for the first mile, then a slow steady climb which got steeper and went on for 3 miles.

I did not feel very well after having a hydrogel at the start and definitely did not enjoy the long climb.
Eyes wide shut. Still.

But I was rewarded mid way with a gorgeous view down to Macclesfield and the rest of the race was very nice , steadily flat and downhill, and at least that made me run quicker.
The finish was at the end of the reservoir near the Teggs Nose top- lovely countryside.
Instead of the goody bag you got an ale or a cider .....- not happy with my time, but might do again with prior training to master the dreaded hill part - and hope some more striders are coming to join me next year.
How much quicker would she have been with her eyes open?
