John Lawton went missing during a mountain marathon in Greece.
His family and friends want him home.
Yesterday Steve and Lynda received an e-mail from the British Embassy in Athens informing him that the official search for John by the Greek police has been called off. Steve was in the very depressing situation of being alone yesterday on the mountainside searching for his Dad. We have made it clear that we will not give up on John after three weeks, and are supported in this view by the local GAIA rescue team and the race organisers. We desperately need help from the UK.
