Steve Farnell was first Strider home in a new personal best time. Meanwhile Helen Culloty narrowly pipped her dad Denis across the finish line and earned herself a new personal best time in doing so. New strider Lindsay Beeston continued his run of good form narrowly missing out on a new best time.

On Sunday, it was the Southport Mad Dog 10k race. This hugely popular 6.2 mile event along the sea front in the picturesque Lancashire town of Southport challenged its participants with some extremely blustery conditions. Five Striders braved the head winds and recorded the following times:
