Sandbach Striders participated in five different weekly 5k parkrun events around the country. Closest to home were the nineteen Striders who completed the Congleton parkrun. Rick Kelso-Davies and Karen Wright both earned themselves new personal best times.

Janet Burgess travelled to Hanley park parkrun and finished in a time of 25:58.

Gillian Roycroft meanwhile travelled over to Delamere Forest and finished in a time of 28:28.
Grant Stanning ran the Penryhn park parkrun in Bangor, North Wales and finished in a time of 33:41.
In Buckinghamshire, Michael Escolme ran the Wycombe Rye parkrun at a large scenic urban park in the town of High Wycombe. Michael finished in 32:16

Three Striders travelled to Worcestershire to participate in the Wyre Forest half-marathon, a trail race which starts at the Wyre Forest Visitors Centre small near the small Georgian town of Bewdley.

Six Striders travelled to Alderley Edge to take part in The Wizard, a 5 mile trail run through the Alderley Edge forest.

Tony Taylor took part in the Bollington Nostalgia Hill Race, a 7.1 mile race starting at the Bridgend Centre in the ancient village of Bollington.

Steve Farnell completed the Race to the Stones, a 62 mile route which takes in the Chilterns in Oxfordshire to the North Wessex Downs. Steve finished the event in 9:54:19.

Sandbach Striders are a welcoming and friendly running club who serve been serving the needs of runners from Sandbach, Middlewich, Alsager, Holmes Chapel and beyond for over ten years. As well as a varied running programme the club has an excellent social calendar and for those runners looking to improve, Sandbach Striders have a number of fully-qualified running coaches to offer advice on training and ensure the safety and well-being of its members.
