Sandbach Striders

You have heard  about it, read about it and talked about it and then I was there standing on the bridge waiting for the signal to go. The Sandbach 10k race had arrived. Not just any 10k but a special 10th anniversary one.
Moe approaching the finish line

Now for me that was a fantastic moment because prior to getting to the bridge I had experienced the pre race process as all the other runners had, from the help with parking, to the smooth registration procedure, clear announcements of what was happening, and then the escorting to the starting line. Everyone was buzzing, lots of friendly banter, comments about that sheep who obviously has terrible reflux problems, the atmosphere was superb.

Then we began I of course knew the route, but to see so many marshals all of whom were smiling, clapping and very encouraging was extremely up lifting. My fellow runners commented on this and of course the weather which only added to the enjoyment. I would like to thank Craig for his encouragement to me and to the Northwich runner behind me ( something you want to tell us Craig )
The start team
Then came the finishing line and yet again hearing your name as you approached was very special and the clapping and shouts of  encouragement were there for every runner as they came through. A true reflection of the Sandbach Striders Ethos a friendly and welcoming club.
The Goodybags
But it didn't end there, the hospitality continued with great goody bags, excellent medals, and glorious food, plus great entertainment from our very own Rock Chick Elaine and her talented band members.
KT and Friends
Phew what a day, I only ran, but the rest of the striders who have obviously been working prior to and on the day to make this event so good deserve a big thank you and a medal themselves.

On a final note can I have No 13 now in every race if it makes me faster.

From one strider to my fellow striders I salute you.
