Sandbach Striders

Six different running events around the country featured runners from Sandbach Striders Running Club this week. Closest to home was the free weekly parkrun at Congleton which featured fifteen Striders.

First Strider home and finishing in fifth position overall was Tony Taylor who also earned himself a new personal best time. He was joined by Steve and Gillian Fallows who both also ran new personal best times.

Lou Hayward and Julia Dunlop ran the Conwy parkrun, located at the RSPB reserve on the beautiful Conwy estuary in North Wales. Lou finished in a time of 28:39, narrowly ahead of Julia Dunlop who finished in 31:20.

Michael Escolme ran the Darley parkrun in Derby, a hilly two lap course that borders the River Derwent. Michael completed the course in 32:33.

Also in parkrun action was Lynsey Astles, who ran the Delamere parkrun, finishing in a time of 29:18.

Paul Nicholls ran the Pattingham Bells Trail Race, a seven mile off-road, multi-terrain race around the beautiful countryside of South Staffordshire.

Kate Jayden ran the Yorkshire marathon in the county’s capital York, finishing in a time of 3:56:07.
