With another weekend of fine weather, Sandbach Striders took full advantage yet again and although not so many events were attended, we were in-force where we appeared! From Congleton Park run to a 10k in Orlando, America!

Paul Nichols was the only strider to take on a longer distance this weekend when he challenged himself to The Grin and Bare It Fell race which covers some of the High Peak area. It was a 25k race starting at Langsett, South Yorkshire. It appears from Paul’s account of the race to be incredibly tough and he appears to have spent most of it knee deep in a bog! He completed the fell race in roughly 3:45.

Last but certainly not least and whilst on holiday, Darren Varley found himself competing in the Orlando Celebration Rotary Club 10k and in the process bagged himself a PB of 38:29 and two medals for his efforts. One for completing the race (coming second overall) and one for coming first in his age category!
