Sandbach Striders

Sandbach Striders pride themselves on choosing a charity based in the local area. Last year the club raised over £1000 at the Sandbach 10k for Cheshire Buddies.

This year the club have voted for Friends for Leisure as the club charity. They are a local charity based in Congleton and are a voluntary organisation for disabled children and young people.

Friends for Leisure arranges activities from one-to-one friendships through to group activities, such as drama and sports sessions for disabled children and young people aged 5-21 who live in Cheshire East. They also help children and young people access activities of their choice, with or without a volunteer friend.

They aim to relieve stress and social exclusion of young people with disabilities by promoting mainstream friendships and leisure opportunities. Alongside this they educate the public by raising awareness about disability and the importance of equality and inclusion.
