Also on Saturday six Striders braved a very earlier alarm call to line up at 6am on the start line of the Round Rotherham 50. The 50 mile route takes in much of the South Yorkshire forest as well as the industrial heritage of the region.

Tom Mayell ran the Arley Hall Half-marathon. Having already been cancelled earlier in the year there was some doubt as to whether the event would actually go ahead, but much to the relief of the 2999 finishers it did. Tom earned himself a new personal best time and finished in 1:43:27.

Sandbach Striders welcome new members of all abilities. Prospective members are welcome to run with the club for a month with no obligation to join.
