There was a huge turnout at the free weekly parkrun at Congleton this week with eighteen members of Sandbach Striders running the three laps of Astbury Mere.
Heather Carter and Nick Hogan both managed to equal their personal best times and Heather once more was the first female across the line. Fran Gilchrist and Craig Edwards also managed to beat their personal best times. 6 year old Adam Mayell once more managed to drag Dad Tom around the course earning himself a new personal best time for a 5k run. It won't be much longer before Adam earns his parkrun junior "10" shirt! It was also great to see Karen Wright back in action running her first parkrun after an enforced absence.
The full results were as follows:
19:55 Martin Coleman20:02 Heather Carter20:39 Nick Hogan21:41 Fran Gilchrist21:52 Craig Edwards22:20 Lindsay Beeston24:05 Martin Gunther25:45 Denis Culloty25:55 Rachel Green27:23 Lou Hayward27:23 Andrew Gibson28:22 Elaine Wood29:30 Isobel Bennett31:09 Michael Escolme32:27 Adam Mayell32:28 Tom Mayell33:21 Karen Wright34:41 Oscar HaywardMeanwhile one lone Strider ventured west to participate in the Delamere parkrun. Grant Stanning finished in 28:31. A big improvement on the time when Grant led a torchlight run in Delamere and managed to lose the forest!
