Thank you for entering the Sandbach 10K - Sponsored by Butcher and Barlow. This email outlines the final instructions for the day.
Event HQ/Registration
The event HQ is located at Sandbach Rugby Club, 124 Bradwall Rd, Sandbach CW11 1RA, this is where you can collect your race number and chip. Registration will be outside the main clubhouse (or if the weather is bad, inside). Toilets are located in the clubhouse, as well as the bar which will be open from 10:00.
Parking and approach to the HQ - Please car share where possible
Car parking is located further down Bradwall Road at the main rugby club car park (it is not at the clubhouse). The car park will be clearly marked and marshalled. The entrance to the car park can be found using the what three words (https://w3w.co/cases.awestruck.things), or google (https://rb.gy/nyqwhx).

Once parked you will be directed to the HQ, which is a couple of minutes walk on a path through the rugby club site. Please do not walk down Bradwall road, or on the rugby pitches. It is important that you keep yourself and children off of the rugby pitches themselves at all times.
Please note that you will not be allowed to leave the car park by vehicle between 10:00 and 10:15 until all the runners have passed, and there will be restrictions and closures in place on the 10k route until the race has finished (approximately 11:30)
Registration and number collection
Please collect your race number (and chip) from registration at the race HQ in plenty of time for the start. Race numbers will be available from 09:00. Please do not arrive before 09:00 as we will be having final marshal instructions, etc. Your number and chip will be available outside the club house, and there will be plenty of people there to help guide you to the registration desks.
The start line is located at the HQ, but please make sure you have collected your number by 9:50.
Please note we have sold out for the race yet again, and no entries will be taken on the day.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME TO COMPLETE YOUR EMERGENCY INFORMATION ON THE BACK OF YOUR NUMBER
Toilets
There will be both male and female toilets available at the rugby club, however we not be able to provide shower/changing facilities.
The 10k Race - UKA License Number 2024-27405
The 10k event will start at 10:00, with the start/finish outside the rugby clubhouse. A warm up, led by Train Fitness Studio, will be at 9:45.
It is a fully closed road course. Please follow all marshals instructions carefully. Please note that a ‘closed road’ race does not mean it is entirely traffic free. It is free only from any traffic wishing to travel through the course route. There may be a very small amount of vehicles (residents etc) who have been made aware of the event in advance. It is advised therefore that runners stay to the right hand side of the road and do not cut blind corners to save seconds.
There is an out and back portion between 3 and 4km. Please approach the turn around point on the right hand side, turning left, and keeping to the right, so as not to encroach into the path of other runners.
There is a water stop at around 6km, and there will be water at the finish line. Also at the water stop location will be a first aid point (as well as another at HQ). If at any point you get into difficulties or feel unwell please stay with the nearest marshal. We will have a lead bike and tail runners to assist anyone, as well as the marshal points around the course. If you see a fellow runner in difficulty, please inform the nearest marshal.
Finish Line
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal. When you finish, please pass through the finishing tunnel quickly where you will receive your medal, goody bag, and be provided with water.
The route
The route will be advertised at the HQ but you can find a route map for the 10k here: https://www.sandbachstriders.co.uk/routes/sandbach-10k/
Presentations
10K - There are prizes for the first 3 male and female finishers (gun time), as well as a prize for the fastest Sandbach resident (male and female). There will be age category prizes for 1st male and female V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, and V65 age categories only (please note only 1 prize per person). The presentation will be held at around 11:00 at HQ.
Spectators
There is room for spectators to watch the start and finish, but we please ask that they be careful near the start/finish line to allow runners to pass through. The rugby club bar will be open.
On the day entries
We sold out well in advance this year, and unfortunately have no places available on the day.
