Sandbach Striders

I hadn’t meant to enter, and it wasn’t initially part of the plan for the holiday. We had booked to go away with Carol’s family to celebrate her brother’s tenth wedding anniversary, get some winter sun and enjoy the all inclusive. Then, about a week before the flight, I looked online to see what there was to do when we were away and came across the Cyprus Marathon.

Biddulph Running Club, held there annual 'Mayors Charity Race' today at Knypersley Pool, it's a 5 mile trail run around knypersley pool reservoir, followed by a long uphill climb through woodland, over biddulph moor before returning around the lake back to the finish. It's a challenging course, very muddy (trail shoes a must) but equally rewarding with some beautiful scenery.

It was one of those days when you couldn't decide what to wear. The ambient temperature was mild but there was a strong, cold wind. I went armed with virtually every clothing combination.

Four Striders made there way to today's inaugural 'Kidsgrove 10k', Helen, Heather, Andy T and myself. This was a new 10k in the area, organised by 'gold events', and being merely a 10 minute drive from Sandbach, it was a race to good to miss.Things weren'...
